Reaching the Age of Majority Booklet

The Reaching the Age of Majority booklet is designed to educate youth about the rights and responsibilities of adulthood.

The booklet addresses the rights and responsibilities of adulthood and is geared primarily toward recent high school graduates. The booklet's 30-plus pages are a helpful resource for Nebraskans of all ages. Lawyers volunteered their time to research, write and edit the material, which highlights current law and features links to additional resources.

The Q&A format addresses more than 30 topics from Alcohol to Living Wills. It includes chapters on Banking, Cell Phones, Consumer Protection, Contracts, Drugs, Domestic Abuse and Landlord Tenant Law. Other timely topics are Internet Safety, Parties, Sexting and Technology.

The Reaching the Age of Majority booklet is underwritten by the Nebraska State Bar Foundation. The original edition of Reaching the Age of Majority booklet was printed in 1994. The current booklet has been reviewed and updated to reflect Nebraska's current law and policy.
