Parker Upton Awarded Standing Bear Scholarship

Congratulations to Parker Upton who has been awarded the prestigious Standing Bear scholarship.

The Standing Bear Scholarship Fund was established by Foundation Fellow Charlie Wright and his wife, Suzy, and Fellow Allen Overcash and his wife, Ginny, to provide scholarships for Native American students at the University of Nebraska College of Law. The fund is in honor of Ponca Chief Standing Bear whose name and deeds commemorate the importance of the basic human rights guaranteed under our Constitution.

Standing Bear scholarships are awarded to regularly enrolled members of federally recognized Native American tribes eligible for resident tuition under the policy of the University of Nebraska Board of Regents. Each recipient must have earned an undergraduate degree and be admitted as a full-time student of the University of Nebraska College of Law.
